| July 10, 2008 | | "Free Market Capitalism" has failed our democracy. | The insurance industry and the health care industry have joined forces to drive up the cost services beyond any Americans ability to pay except the super rich. The corruption and greed in our "Free Market Capitalist" Democracy is the direct result of a nation wide push for deregulation of all business. Health care has already bankrupted the government. Government already pays 55-60% of the $2.4Trillion cost which is rising 12-15% annually and the "baby boomers" are not even on medicare yet. The situation is beyond hopeless. The unfuded government bankrupting liabilty is known, and there is little action by the public or by government to do anything about the problem Combined with gas at $5-6 a gallon and the nationwide cost of the corruption and greed of government sanctioned yet unregulated financial institutions doing off balance sheet Sub-prime lending and cost shifting, you have the perfect scenario for yet another do nothing congress. Politicians don't kick sleeping dogs. We the people have been in a social coma ever since WW II. Your heath care and your pension and your social security will disappear, when your government fails because no one wants to pay for the problem. The price of our national coma will be very painful for all but the super rich, and it is the super rich that are in control of our Democracy. | |
