to tech or not to tech.........

Mike,

I was a strong proponet of tech in medicine from several levels.  I have all the gadgets and gizzmos.  My hospitals now have everything computerized.

But, I do not see an improvement in care.........in fact, in my world, I see pt care sliding on the importance list.  Staff and docs are having to spend too much time on the computer and too little time with the pt..............at least that is my take. To be frank, my workload has increased with the advent of tech changes and since there is a finite number of hours in a day, this has acted to reduce my direct pt care.
