Barbara Ficarra Founder and Executive Producer Health In 30 Barbara Ficarra RN, BSN, MPA is an award-winning journalist and broadcaster who is also active on the front lines of the health care system, where she is multifaceted in her clinical and administrative experience. She works as an administrative head nurse at a level 2 trauma center and is a patient advocate who always encourages patients and their families to be proactive in their health and to always speak up and ask questions. Ficarra is the creator/executive producer/host of Health in 30™ radio show, which broadcasts on WRCR-AM 1300 and streams live online at www.Healthin30.com. She is also the founder and editor-in-chief of the Healthin30.com website and is the medical/health correspondent and executive producer at Scribe Media. She is the creator/host/executive producer of Scribe Media’s WebTV programs Health in 30™ and Nurses in Motion™. Ficarra serves as an expert health contributor to Healthandwellnessexpert.com and on the Academy of Judges for the International Health and Medical Media Awards (the FREDDIES). She is a speaker at professional conferences and was recently elected to the Board of the National Association of Medical Communicators. She is a member of New York Women in Communications and the Association of Health Care Journalists.
